Good travel prep can make your trip all the more peaceful and enjoyable. Find the most important information about your stay below.
Want to find out about our measures to comply with social distancing in light of the corona virus? Here you can read all about it.
Checking in and out
Your room is ready for you from 3pm. Early check-in is possible if your room has already been cleaned. Prefer to check in digitally? Use the link on your booking confirmation and download a Flexipass that provides entry to the hotel and your room. Quite handy when in a hurry, or if you’re arriving between 11pm and 7am. Another option is our self-check-in kiosk. Needless to say, though, we’re always happy to greet and help you in person.
We ask you to check out by 11am. In case you’d like to stay a little longer, that’s fine (subject to availability). For € 25,- you only have to turn in your keys by 3pm.
In our baggage storage you can leave your things when taking a stroll through the Middelburg streets before checking in or after checking out. No problem.
On weekdays, breakfast is served in The Green Room from 7am to 10:30am. Open to our hotel guests locals alike! On the weekend, you’re welcome to start your day with us from 8am to 10:30am.
Think of soft & sweet banana pancakes, homemade cake, fresh croissants and fruit… Think of savoury superstars like granolas and breads, eggs with avocado (and bacon, if you want), sourdough toast with hummus… And think of coffee, tea, juices, smoothies and milk. It’s all so good, before you know you’ll lie awake just dreaming about it!
Unfortunately, while the corona virus is among us, we have had to make some changes. You can read all about it here.
Booking & changing reservations
Good to know: booking through our own website rather than an online travel agent will save you at least € 10,-/night.
Would you like to change your reservations? Check the terms and conditions of your booking. Your online travel agent can help you with that. If you booked directly with us, then we will sort it out for you.
Do you have to cancel your entire stay with us? With our flexible rates, that poses no problems: up to 24hrs before arrival, you can cancel your stay free of charge. After that, you’ll be charged for the first night.
Are you looking to book 6 rooms or more? Or are you a business traveller who needs to stay with us on a regular basis? Get in touch via firstname.lastname@example.org.
Groups and children
Our Family Fig and Family Loft rooms are suited for a company of four. In all of our rooms except for the Tiny Oaks and Tiny Lofts we can place baby cots (€ 15,-/night, subject to availability). In case you haven’t celebrated your 18th birthday yet, then you’re welcome to stay with us only in the presence of your parents or primary caretakers.
Are you organising a party, personal event or business meeting? We have small as well as bigger event spaces available and love to discuss your ideas with you. Get in touch at email@example.com for an informal chat. You can also check out our meeting packages here.
From 7am to 11pm, your host at the front desk is ready to help you with whatever you need. In search of an iron and ironing board? Did you forget your toothbrush or shaving kit? Or would your jacket benefit from a quick trip to the drycleaner’s? We’ll take care of it for you.
In case of emergency, you can also reach us at night. Simply call our main phone number.
If, for whatever reason, you’re not fully satisfied with our service, then the front desk is the place to go with your concerns. We’ll do all we can to make things better. Stop by or simply write us at firstname.lastname@example.org. (And if you can, please post an honest review on TripAdvisor. Thank you very much in advance!)
Every day, we come by your room for cleaning. After three nights, we’ll also arrange for clean sheets. If you’d like a clean towel, drop the dirty one on the floor and we’ll get you a fresh one.
Do you worry about the ecological footprint that comes with all these laundry baskets and detergents? Would you therefore like to use your sheets and towels a little longer? That’s fine! Let us know when booking or arriving. What’s more, we’ll donate the resources we’re saving straight to our Tree Fund: € 1,50/Per person per night. It’s not much, but it adds up!
We top our Swiss Sense Premium box spring beds with double beddings. If you prefer single beddings, we’ll gladly sort that out for you.
Cars and the city centre… No happy combo. Our four parking spots are intended for EVs and vehicles with disability parking permits.
Looking for a parking spot near the hotel? We recommend the Achter de Houttuinen parking garage or the Hof van Tange car park. Parking tickets for Hof van Tange are available at the front desk for € 15,-/day. Those are only 1-2 minutes away by foot. Another option is the Cycle Hub (Oude Veerseweg). For € 5,-/day, we’ll arrange for a bike share, car share or Connexxion taxi ride to and from the hotel. Again, € 1,50 goes into our Tree Fund.
Racing to the other side of town? In front of the hotel you’ll find bikes to share for € 0,40/30 min. Going on a longer trip? Then rent an e-bike (€ 22,50/day) or a three-gear bike (€ 12,50/day).
With these deals, you’re also supporting our Tree Fund: € 2,50/day per bike or e-bik.
Your dog is welcome at WOOD, too. For € 17,50/night, we’ll arrange everything for you and your dog: water, dog biscuits and a dog box spring of course! Less animal-friendly guests (with or without allergies) may rest assured: the rooms suitable for dogs are all located in the souterrain. And the hotel will never turn into a zoo, because only one dog per room is allowed.
In our hotel, you can pay by cash or by card. We accept all major creditcards (Maestro, VPay, Visa, MasterCard and AmEx). Advance payment with iDeal is possible, too.
City Hotel WOOD is a non-smoking hotel.
